release of balloons?
just saw some television coverage of a move of a prominent institution to their new premises. good that they moved - but bad part is; they released what looked like countless balloons into the air.
when balloons go high up, and finally burst, they are effectively litter - covering a massive area! worse still are the poor turtles which may come across balloon scraps, thinking it's colourful jellyfish.
booo for the organizers that did this event!...

the release of the balloons - you never know where the tide and wind will carry those wayward balloons to. even if it's the southern shores, there is a chance it will eventually be washed over to ubin given time.
